For those living in the present without any knowledge or concern of the past – this is what it has come too – a loss of innocence, a destruction of a sentient being, The circle of life goes on and flowers are laid on graves and when we can give no care to others who share the earth with us – why should we be surprised when the circle comes around again and no care is shown to us. That is Karma my friends – and it will not be swayed.

Where have all the brumbies gone?
They weren’t trespassing.
Where have all the brumbies gone?
Shot long ago
Why have all the brumbies gone ?
Shooters killed them – one by one.
When will we ever learn …when will we ever learn.



Where have all the young foals gone?
Small children asking.
Why have all the young colts gone?
Don’t say ‘don’t know’
Why can’t we see them run?
They’ve gone to graveyards one by one
Because we never learn … because we never learn.



Where do all their bones lie now? ….
Young child gasping
On the forest floor my child
As best we know.
Could we not have saved their lives?
Not when people believe lies.
Our entreaties were spurned … Some folk don’t want to learn.



Who will put their bones to rest?
Young boy asking
Mother Nature does her best
As seasons flow.
She will cover them with flowers
And wild grasses …wash with showers
Her children she will mourn … Their bodies she’ll adorn.



Where can we see brumbies now?
Tourists are asking
Are they running wild to see –
We’d like to know?
You can see them all in books
Come with me and take a look
Not how it’s meant to be … They should be running free.
