...Thanks mate, I love it....."majestic swales of colour fills the cirrus sails"... just one of the many hard hitting descriptions of the real outback.
I reckon it is just a great piece of writing, thanks again.

Beautiful descriptive writing Matty with some fabulous lines

cranking back to life the Listers heart.
A
sentinel corella hears
the clink of chain on gate and clears
the trough of bobbing heads and baldy eyes,
And in good time majestic swales
of colour fill the cirrus sails
that clear celestial decks for night to fill.

impressive Matty

The generators put to rest
and canvassed foam unrolled and blest

Typo here - think this should be blessed

Very well done IMO

Cheers

" blest " is OK Maureen. The Oxford dictionary has it as " old use " but Matt has used it here to make a rhyme with rest. Good choice, I think.

That's outstanding Matt. Very very very good. A lot of showing rather than telling and a very effective exploration of the most dynamic words to convey the image and the mood.

Gees Matt. Even a city slicker could read this and visualise the scene. I, like Marty read the first bit before I was off to work and thought will read it when I get some more time, caught up with the rest this morning and glad I did.

Great stuff .

I bet if you have any horsie one's in the same sort of vein you will have a friend for life in Kym.

Look forward to reading more of your work.

Cheers Bob

Hi Matt good to see what you wrote this is one I do my way in performace so please excuse

Early morning rise

It’s cold out here this morning,
Before the sun does blaze
The fire all cheery red, and blazing
But the view, all dreary haze

No light shows round the country
But that it soon will come.
For the sky’s now slowly colouring
And daylight soon will come

The birds are slowly wakening
Heralding the dawn
The stock, are slowly moving
Stirring from their bed

Your dogs, all sit and whimper
Asking for some food
Demanding of a hand out
But their tucker soon will come

You’ll stamp your feet
And move about
Just hoping for some warmth
But you’ll freeze there for a while

The Billy, she’s now boiling
The tea, she’s scolding hot
But life it’s now worth living
Now that you have got that drop

You’ll relent and feed your dogs
You know they need it too
Your horse, he needs some tucker
His breathe its steamy too.

Oh lord if there was something
I knew that you could do
I’d not ask for much you see
But lord it’s cold here too.

Oh Matt. If they don't erect a statue of you, beside Gordon et al, I'll personally have you embalmed & stuck on a star picket...somewhere flash.
You're a magnificent writer, man.
