I LOVE BED

Post by Cropduster » Wed Jan 20, 2016 2:19 am

I LOVE BED

There are days when eyes refuse to open,
days when you lose faith and hope, and
days when thoughts are pounding in your head
...I love bed

There are days when muscles take to aching
days when all the pills you're taking
only make your eyes turn blood-shot red
...I love bed

There are days when kids just keep on screaming
days when piercing light comes streaming
days when you might rather just be dead
...I love bed

There are days when life bares not worth thinking
days when all the walls are shrinking
days when you feel just sick up and fed
...I love bed

There are days when you just can't get going
days when next door neighbour's mowing
days when you feel like you're full of lead
...I love bed

There are days when damaged brain cells ringing
crazy nights of dinking, singing
days when you regret the words you said
...I love bed

So now I pledge undying love for
The soft place between me and the floor
If I could marry surely we'd be wed
...I love bed

Ah, the wistful poetry of aging. :)

There's a lot to be said,
for staying in bed!

A good one Allan and many I can relate to, especially the aching muscles line. Actually my favourite time in bed is when I first get into it, grab the book I'm reading at the time, arrange the pillow, give a little sigh of pleasure to have made it through another day, and drop the old noggin onto the pillow.
Cheers ... Wazza
