Just Thinking

Just Thinking

Do you feel a sort of sadness now, or is it only me,
when you think about Australia and the way it used to be?
Do you hunger for the past at times, when looking at today;
are we starting to go backwards; have we somehow lost our way?

Do you think about our pioneers and efforts they put in,
do we put it down to progress, and then take it on the chin?
Did our fathers and their fathers also think along these lines;
Could it be I have a point – or have I muddled up the signs?

For who cares about the forests, or the wetlands come to that;
or the prospect of our wildlife, feeding some marauding cat?
So I’ll need to stop my thinking, if I want some peace of mind;
better that I just accept things, leave my troubled thoughts behind.

Yes I do at times Terry and then I think about what we didn't have back when and my thoughts do an about face. But I enjoyed the poem.

No probably about it Terry. Of course you are living in the past! ... not too much wrong with that though.
Have a good Christmas mate.

G/day Heather
I'm sorry if I've upset you, it seems that my attempt at a bit of light hearted humor has fallen flat once again.

It's obvious to me now that I'd better just button my lip.
