THE ALBURY SHOW

Post by Cropduster » Sat Oct 31, 2015 6:29 am

THE ALBURY SHOW

Went to the Albury show Friday mornin'
to check out the produce and stock.
Snaffled a park right out front of the entrance;
I couldn't believe my good luck.
Crowds seemed much smaller than what was expected,
maybe the sun was too hot,
but with sunnies and hat, I was feeling protected
so off down the road at a trot.
Hardly could wait to see cows and the chickens
and pumpkins as big as a barn.
So excited was I that I ran like the dickens
to check out what's grown on the farm.
The bloke on the gate, he just gave me a wink
said the girl selling tickets weren't there.
So he ushered me in without paying a cent -
said to him that it only seemed fair.
So onward I marched with a spring in my step,
not often you get in for free.
Till a 'carnie' who was busy erecting a tent
said 'Oi, we don't open till three'.

Everything in the country mives slower Allan. I go to places where i think i have the wrong venue after arriving half an hour before it is due to start and no one is there. Five min from starting they cone out of the woodwork. No one lives more then couple of minutes away.
The purpose in life is to have fun.

I was about four hours early, Bob, and I wasn't about to sit and wait for the locals to arrive.

When I feel it is nearing my time to go, Bill, I will be among the first in line to start digging the hole ;)

Time waits for no man - you've got all the time in the world but there's only 24 hours in a day . Seems patience is perhaps not your strong-suit....shame you missed it though or did you just keep strolling and looking?

Missed it this year, Maureen. Maybe I have all the time in the world, but my dance card is kept pretty full at present.
The kids got to go with their mother, and a good time was had by all :D
