Memoiries are for sharing Leonie and Chris and I were very appreciative of all the bush poets who attended his funeral and John Best from the North Pine bush Poets for saying a few words.

This is such a wonderful tribute Merv. & especially...

"The long hair and the earring had my poor dad asking me
if I’d changed my manly habits and I now sat down to pee"

this brought back so many memories as I went through the same thing with my dad.

yep Heather, where has it gone, used to be in a ponytail down to the middle of my back, I now have the same cut dad had, #1

Lived at Ellis Beach north of Cairns with the Hippies back in the 70's.

What did you do with all that hair when you were though with it...stuff a saddle?

I remember the day I got it cut off in Cairns and the Hairdresser kept it. Probably some good sort wearing it as a wig mate.

Might be a good poem in your thoughts though mate. Some mad Saddler kidnapping hippies and cutting their hair to counterline saddles.

So you saw them for a fleeting moment Heather. They do a wonderful job as there an awful lot more of me to hold up these days.
